Azaria wins Emmy for ‘The Simpsons’

Hank Azaria has won an Emmy for outstanding voiceover performance in the role of convenience store operator Apu on “The Simpsons.”

Azaria also voices Moe, Chief Wiggum and Dr. Nick Riviera.

An Emmy for individual achievement in animation goes to production designer Eric Radomski for his work on HBO’s “Spawn.”

The two animation nods are juried awards, which are determined by a panel of judges from the animation executives peer group of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The awards will be handed out at the creative arts awards portion of the Primetime Emmys on Aug. 29 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
